FAQ

1. What IS a Surprise?

A Surprise can be anything from a fire eating class to an ice sculpting workshop and anything in between, but you don't know what it will be till you get there.

2. Is a Surprise a gift or can I get one for myself?

Yes and yes. You can experience your adventure solo or give it as a gift. When giving a Surprise as a gift we highly recommend (almost to the point of insisting) that you do the Surprise together. Since you'll have no idea what the Surprise will be even if you are the gift giver, you get to share the excitement and bond throughout the experience.

PLEASE NOTE: For the time being, we are not offering Surprises for couples. Our order minimum is 10 people for private, customized Surprises, and there is no order minimum for Mini Surprises.

3. Can I choose a particular activity or find out what my Surprise will be?

No siree Bob. There are lots of companies out there that will let you pick your adventure. At Surprise Industries, the adventure picks you. Enjoy the luxury of zero decision-making and the thrill of stepping out of your comfort zone.

4. How long does a Surprise last?

Surprises are generally one to two hours, but if you'd like a longer adventure just let us know.

5. In what cities can you plan a Surprise?

We specialize in New York City and surrounding areas, but we often take on Surprises in other U.S. cities too. Email us at hey@surpriseindustries.com to check availability.

6. How can you ensure that we will enjoy the Surprise?

We receive consistently rave feedback from our clients. Our Surprise providers are experienced, dedicated, and highly rated professionals in their (often unusual) fields. Mini Surprises take into account restrictions like allergies and phobias, custom Group Surprises are further crafted around your likes and dislikes, and for corporate Group Surprises, we also consider company culture and goals.

That being said, the whole point of a Surprise is embracing the unknown. Anticipation and novelty increase happiness and bonding, so we recommend not worrying about whether your Surprise will be a perfect fit and choosing to keep an open mind. Life's better that way.
